Start every day with a Healthy Breakfast!

Eating Breakfast will jump-start your body’s furnace and give you Energy to
start your day. Skipping Breakfast can increase your appetite and lead to
poor choices [such as overeating] later in the day.

Watch your Food Serving Sizes!

Size matters!! … to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight, watch your
portion sizes! For example, a Single Serving of meat is about the size of a
regular deck of playing cards.

Various recent studies have indicted that Food Serving Size is one of the two
main problems [the other being What we Chose to Eat] with our eating habits.


Have three Healthy Meals and three Nourishing Snacks every day!

Eating several Smaller Meals throughout the day keeps your body running
smoothly, so you have a steady supply of Energy and are less likely to have food
cravings.


Limit your Intake of Salt, Sugars, Alcohol and Caffeine!

Taste food before adding salt and drink beverages with alcohol and caffeinated
 
beverages In Moderation. And, limit your intake of Sugars, which are prevalent
in most commercially 'prepared or processed' [aka 'fast'] foods and most beverages!

Choose a Variety of foods from each of the Food Groups!

Variety is 'the spice of life' (!) – and Healthy Eating! Eating the same foods
over and over, even nutritious foods, means you are getting a lot of some nutrients
and missing out on others. Experiment with nutritious foods you haven’t tried
before. Different kinds of Fruits and Vegetables can be Healthy & Fun to try!


Remember to drink lots of Water!

Water quenches your thirst and keeps you hydrated - it’s the Natural and
Important Choice - especially during the warmer months of the year. After all,
Water [H2O] is the single most common molecule in the human body!


 
Be Active every day!

Good Health is achieved, in part, by a combination of Healthy Eating and
Active Living. You don’t have to be an athlete, just spend about 30 - 60
Minutes
every day being Active - walking, gardening, swimming, canoeing,
biking -  the Choice is yours  .. and the Benefits, too!!
